Frequently asked questions

  1. Q

How long are job adverts typically live for?

    A

Usually 28 days, although this can be extended according to your recruitment needs
  2. Q

How do I get the best response from my job advert?

    A

Your job advert needs to encourage the best matching candidates to apply, whilst minimising the number of irrelevant candidates. You can use applicant screening questions to filter out irrelevant candidates. And, add skills and expertise that are required by the candidate to your job advert.
  3. Q

Can I use the same advert to advertise different jobs?

    A

Each job advert can be used to advertise one position. You will not be able to edit the job title or the location of the role once you receive your first application. Once an advert is non-changeable, you will need to pay for and begin another campaign.
  4. Q

How do I end a campaign early?

    A

Once an advertising campaign has begun, it is possible to remove the adverts from job sites, however our fees are not refundable.
  5. Q

How do I extend an advertising campaign?

    A

At the end of the campaign period, we will contact you to enquire whether you would like to extend your job advertising campaign.
  6. Q

Are jobs advertised with social media?

    A

Job adverts are placed with our LinkedIn profile. If you request, we also share job adverts through Facebook and Twitter.
  7. Q

Do recent job adverts rank higher in search results on Job Boards?

    A

No, the ranking system is not determined by how recent the job was first posted on a site. Factors that affect each job vacancy’s rank include: location, salary, keywords, industry and the contract type on a relevancy basis. The more criteria the job matches against the candidates search results, the more relevant it is and so will be ranked higher.
  8. Q

Where will my job advert be placed?

    A

Adverts will be placed on as many as 12 job sites. Including: Reed, Totaljobs, CV Library, Glassdoor and Indeed. Adverts will also be placed on social media sites: Linkedin, facebook and, twitter.
  9. Q

    What are screening questions?

    A

This is a feature an employer can impose on candidates to answer before they submit their application to their job advert. This will narrow down the number of applications you receive, ensuring each one suitably meets your criteria set. These questions can be anything from ensuring each applicant has a valid driving license, to if they have a valid UK passport, to about the applicant’s skill set required for the role.
  10. Q

What happens if you have your own application form that you need candidates to complete?

    A

You can include your own application form, although this is not always recommended. Candidates can be put off finishing applications if the process is long winded or unclear, so if it’s absolutely vital for candidates to use your own application form try to make sure this is as short and as clear as possible. If you wish to use your own application form we are willing to send this to candidates before we pass suitable CVs onto you, however it is recommended that the application form only be sent to candidates whose CVs you have selected to progress to interview stage.
  11. Q

Can I choose a specific/specialist job site for my company’s advert?

    A

Some jobs require advertising on specialist sites, lawyers for example. Where possible we advertise on the sites relevant to your particular job. Each job site charges a fee to advertise and obviously pricing will be a key decider whether our ‘fixed fee package’ can accommodate additional charges for your preferred site. If the cost of the advert on a particular site can be accommodated within our fees, then we will advertise on a specific site at your request. If not, we will have to treat it as separate to the campaign and request the additional advertising and administration fees from you.
  12. Q

How do I find a job advert I previously advertised?

    A

You can request a copy of previously expired adverts from us. Please note, ended adverts are kept for three months after their expiry date, after which time we will no longer keep them on record.
  13. Q

How can I tell which applicants are new?

    A

On the summary we prepare for you, we will list the CVs under a heading indicating the date we sent a particular CV to you.
  14. Q

    Who will message the candidates/applicants?

    A

Candidates will appreciate a response, even if it's to notify them that they've been unsuccessful. When you've reviewed applicants to your job, you can indicate on the summary list ‘Suitable’ or ‘Unsuitable’ next to each candidate. We will message unsuitable candidates on your behalf so that it is our email address these candidates see. You can message suitable candidates directly, so they are able to reply and make arrangements directly with you.
  15. Q

Does AdCam vet or interview candidates?

    A

No. We are not a recruitment consultant or an employment agent.
  16. Q

Do AdCam require a meeting with us?

  18. Q

How do I find a details of a candidate previously sent?

    A

AdCam do not store CVs or personal details of candidates. We simply process data on your behalf. You can request us to re-search databases for a particular candidate during your campaign. However, once a campaign has ended we are unable to conduct searches for you.
  19. Q

Do you guarantee I will find a suitable candidate?

    A

No. Just as if you were running your own campaign, there are no guarantees that you will find the candidate you are looking for.
  20. Q

Where can I find your terms and conditions?

    A

The Specification describes and explains the services AdCam offers, and the limitations of liability. A copy of the Specification can be found by clicking on the button at the bottom of the page.
